Want to learn new words while having fun? Every day, Jewdle is a Wordle-style puzzle game that tests how much you know about Jewish history, culture, and language.
The main goal of Jewdle is simple: in 6 tries, find the hidden secret word. For sound forms from Hebrew, Yiddish, Aramaic, and English, Jewdle only uses six-letter words, which makes it different from other word games.
Each guess makes a tile a different color, which shows how far you've come:
Green (SHALOM): The letter S is in the right spot in the word.
Yellow: The letter S is in the wrong place in the word.
Gray (LATKES): The word doesn't have a K in it at all.
Holiday names, slang, prayers, and ethnic words are the things you can guess.
This is how Jewdle is laid out, which makes it easy to use and fun to play on any device:
Keyboard Interface: Type the six-letter answer on your keyboard or the on-screen keys and press "Enter."
When you think in terms of sounds, remember sound pairs that you are used to hearing, like "CH", "SCH", or "AH".
Learn About a Lot of Different Things: Remember that the answers cover a lot of different things, from old Aramaic texts to current slang and holiday foods.
Educational Insights: The game, which was created by Alon Meltzer of the Shalom group, gives cultural and educational information for each correct answer.
Increased Size: The six-letter layout is different from the five-letter layout and helps you learn new words every day that you wouldn't normally use in five-letter puzzles.
